COBDR ADVENTURE + ’24 Synopsis
cobdr T
Nine  riders showed up for a 7 day adventure and started the COBDR ADVENTURE + in ’24 from the Ute Casino near the 4 Corners with Exit Tours MC. 3 partook in Bus ride from the Finish to the start.
The Idea being to save a days travel back to the start at the end of the ride.
  • This last week in August rain was never an issue for the Team. Nor was mud.
  • Basically hero dirt all week, as the daily rain shower’s were ahead of the guys all week.
  • No one even changed an Air filter after 1,075 miles. No Flat tires were reported, unless you count the Chase truck.
  • 5 guys ended up finishing at the Ladder Ranch on the Wyoming Border.
By the finish there had been 1 injury on Day 1 and his buddy ended up going also to care of the injured party.
2 guys had prior commitments and took off a day early.

Exit Tours Motorcycle Club, Salida, CO portaged everyone’s gear and ice chests all week, and the club secured unique lodging locations, except when we camped at pre-determined locations on Days 1 & 2. Breakfast was available every morning, as were campfires every night, and Adult libations were enjoyed by those who imbibed.

  • Dinner was included with Lodging on Days 3-7.
  • Most of the guys BBQ’d on Day 1 and partook of Dinner from Cannibal Alfred Packer’s Bar & Grill in Lake City on Day 2.
  • Day 2 is the most challenging of the COBDR ADVENTURE, as it includes 5 Mountain Passes. Next year we’ll offer an alternate from Last Dollar Pass to Ouray and Silverton on the Million Dollar Highway.
  • Day 3 is an easy ride from Lake City to Salida over 2 passes. Cumblerland and paved Cottonwood. Next year be sure to take a look at the side route we’ll offer to the Alpine Tunnel between Pitkin & Tincup on Day 3.
  • Day 4 was a Rest Day at the Ponderosa Lodge on Monarch Pass, in the Heart of the Rockies. 3/4’ers of the crew rode on the Rest Day.
  • On Day 5 for ’25 Exit Tours Motorcycle Club, Salida, CO will offer an option around Hagerman Pass. The route in ’25 will head up the Colorado Midland RR Right-of-way to Twin Lakes, then over Independence Pass to Aspen, then drop down to the Roaring Fork river and pick up the tie-In from Hagerman Pass, and over the Mountains to Gypsum and Dotsero.
  • Day 5 we stay at the stellar Opa’s Camp, a private motorcycle only campground just up from the confluence of the Colorado & Eagle Rivers. With a constantly re-circulating swimming pond. Fishing opportunities and Dinner & Breakfast included.
  • Day 6 was up the Colorado River road to Steamboat Springs with as much off-road as possible and a great lunch, then a short jaunt to the Ladder Ranch on the Wyoming border. Where the Club took over the old Homestead compound with it’s 4 bedrooms and 2 cabins, and space for tents.
  • What makes this Adventure the + is Day 7’s loop of the WYO Red Desert X-Loop. Which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who partook. Wild Horses  jaunting around and you truly are in the middle of nowhere on the 200 mile half pavement loop.
All in all the ’24 COBDR ADVENTURE + was a successful fun ride from the 4 Corners to the Wyoming Border.
Look for the COBDR + again the last week in August of ’25.
